This is the last course in a series of medical terminology courses for the Administrative Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant Program. This advanced course places emphasis on the anatomy & physiology of the endocrine system, reproductive systems, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and complementary medicine.
Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy/physiology of the endocrine system, reproductive systems, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and complementary medicine.
- Use Medical Terminology including roots, prefixes, and suffixes related to body systems
- Pronounce, spell, and define medical terms
- Identify CLIA waived tests relating to each body system studied
- Identify the classifications of medications related to each body system studied including indications for use, desired effects, side effects, and adverse reactions
- Define medical terms and abbreviations related to each body system studied
- Analyze pathology for each body system including diagnostic measures and treatment modalities
