Medical Assistant Apprenticeship

The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship prepares participants to provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient and ambulatory healthcare settings. Apprentices develop skills in patient communication, health-history collection, vital signs, appointment coordination, medical records, electronic health records, clinical procedures, laboratory testing, medication and vaccine administration within scope of practice, infection control, care coordination, and quality improvement.

The program combines 2,000 hours of paid on-the-job learning with at least 288 hours of related supplemental instruction. It is generally completed within 12–24 months. Apprentices work under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals and apply classroom learning directly in the workplace.

Behavioral Health Technician Apprenticeship

The Behavioral Health Technician Apprenticeship prepares participants to support individuals receiving behavioral health and substance-use-related services. Apprentices learn to build supportive relationships, coordinate care, assist with medication management, provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed services, document client care, manage crises, use de-escalation strategies, support health and recovery goals, and work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team.

The program also includes foundational clinical and nursing-assistant-related skills such as taking vital signs, conducting urine drug screenings, infection control, CPR and first aid, client mobility assistance, confidentiality, and workplace safety.

The apprenticeship consists of 2,000 hours of paid on-the-job learning and at least 250 hours of related supplemental instruction, generally completed within 12–24 months.

Substance Use Disorder Professional Apprenticeship

The Substance Use Disorder Professional Apprenticeship prepares participants to provide comprehensive assessment, counseling, treatment planning, care coordination, referral, crisis intervention, education, and recovery support for individuals experiencing substance use disorders.

Apprentices receive training in addiction theory, evidence-based treatment approaches, screening and assessment, individualized treatment planning, individual and group counseling, family counseling, relapse prevention, documentation, medication management, cultural responsiveness, professional ethics, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community advocacy. The program emphasizes culturally responsive, trauma-informed, person-centered care and the ethical and legal responsibilities of substance use disorder professionals.

The program includes 4,000 hours of paid on-the-job learning and at least 560 hours of related supplemental instruction. It is generally completed within 24–36 months.
