This course introduces apprentices to the foundational concepts and responsibilities of medical assistants within the U.S. healthcare system, with a focus on administrative and theoretical knowledge rather than hands-on clinical practice. Students will learn about healthcare team roles, medical terminology, patient communication, front-office operations, electronic health records, infection control protocols, and legal and ethical standards such as HIPAA and OSHA. Emphasis is placed on understanding clinical procedures conceptually to prepare students for future training or workplace settings.
