This course provides a foundation and practical skills required to support, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems. Students will explore essential hardware components, including cable types, connectors, RAM, storage devices, motherboards, CPUs, and add-on cards, while learning how to compare their features and functions. This course introduces networking fundamentals, covering wired and wireless technologies, internet connection types, TCP/IP concepts, and common protocols and ports. Students gain experience assembling both desktop computers and laptops from individual components

  • Define and classify cable types, connectors, features, and purposes
  • Analyze and differentiate memory characteristics, storage devices, motherboards, CPUs, and add-on cards
  • Analyze similarities and differences among network types, hardware, cables, and wireless networking technologies
  • Examine and distinguish Internet connection types, TCP/IP concepts, common protocols, and ports
  • Apply Windows system tools per industry standards.
  • Evaluate and resolve boot, storage disk, display, and power issues through troubleshooting methods
  • Assemble a computer and laptop from individual components, and produce documentation of the installation process
