This course focuses on the role and operation of steering system components in trucks and heavy equipment and their relationship to brake and suspension systems. Students develop and refine skills in the repair and maintenance of steering systems. The major emphasis will be inspection and repair methods for steering system components. 

Outcomes
  • Inspect and measure steering geometry and alignment angles to manufacturer specifications.
  • Identify the components of steering systems and their function.
  • Diagnose and service steering system malfunctions to restore safe operation.
  • Perform a service, repair and replace steering system components.
