Eligibility

It is the student's responsibility to identify him or herself as having a documented disability and seek assistance from Disability Support Services (DSS). Bates Technical College recognizes that traditional methods, programs, and services may need to be altered to ensure full accessibility to qualified persons with disabilities.

A qualified student is one who:

Has a physical, mental or sensory impairment that substantially limits one or more of her or his major life activities and has a record of such an impairment or is perceived to have such an impairment. Major life activities in general include, but are not limited to, caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, seeing, hearing, eating, sleeping, walking, standing, lifting, bending, speaking, breathing, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating, or working and is either permanent or temporary.
