Bates has libraries at the Downtown and South Campus locations to serve the information needs of students and employees.
Friendly, professional library staff support research and learning with access to academic databases that hold millions of reliable information resources, and a collection of learning materials that includes 11,000 books in print and 90,000 eBooks. Library services include over 100 computer workstations, printing and copying, study rooms, laptops, and other equipment.
A faculty librarian is available for Information Literacy instruction with in-class sessions at an instructor’s request, modules to add to Canvas courses, and individual consultations for students to assist with assignments (by appointment).
