High Intrmediate ESL R/W is a high-intermediate reading and writing course for non-native speakers of English. It is designed to help students develop reading and writing skills through passage reading, vocabulary development, and grammar and writing practice. The course provides practice activities to improve vocabulary, speed, and comprehension. Students read passages with a variety of topics, sources, and purposes, including reading for pleasure. Students at this level focus on elements of several types of paragraphs and perfect the use of transitions. As a final writing assignment, students are expected to write a cohesive three-paragraph essay.
