This course introduces students to the physical nature of sound and how the ear translates it from a physical phenomenon to a sensory one. Topics include waveform characteristics, reflection, diffraction, frequency response, phase, loudness levels, sound-pressure levels, thresholds, and perceptions.

Corequisites
