This course is an introduction to the first in a series of medical terminology courses associated with anatomy and physiology with an understanding of disease processes and conditions. Students learn basic prefixes, suffixes, combining forms and body structure terminology. Focus will be on the Integumentary and Skeletal Systems.

- Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental medical terminology word building
- Use medical terminology including roots, prefixes and suffixes
- Pronounce, spell and define medical terms related to the organizational structure of the human body
- Describe body planes, directional terms, quadrants, and body cavities
- Identify CLIA waived tests associated with common diseases
- Identify the classifications of a variety of medications
- Understand the functions and structure of the skeletal and muscular system utilizing course lecture, online applications, and simulations in Cengage Learning
