This course is the second in a series of medical terminology courses associated with anatomy and physiology with an understanding of disease processes and conditions. Students learn basic prefixes, suffixes, combining forms and body structure terminology related to the Cardiovascular System, Blood, Lymph, and Immune Systems, Respiratory System, and the Digestive System.
Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy/physiology of the Cardiovascular, Blood, Lymph & Immune, Respiratory, and Digestive Systems
- Use Medical Terminology including roots, prefixes and suffixes related to body systems
- Identify CLIA waived tests relating to each body system studied
- Identify the classifications of medications related to each body system studied including indications for use, desired effects, side effects, and adverse reactions
- Analyze pathology for each body system including diagnostic measures and treatment modalities
- Define medical terms and abbreviations related to each body system studied
- Pronounce, spell and define medical terms
