This course is 10 planned hours and prepares students for a healthcare career. This class will cover topics including active and reflective listening and utilizing non-judgmental words and behaviors. Students will learn skills to communicate with the client’s family and significant others (with the client’s consent), using “person-centered/person-first” language. Additionally, this course will focus on building positive relationships, understanding the value of communication, and engaging in supportive and collaborative teamwork.
