ASUDP 117: Health Equity & Cultural Competence

This course is 40 planned hours and prepares students for a career in substance use disorder treatment services. It addresses transdisciplinary foundations established by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment’s (CSAT) Addiction Counseling Competencies (TAP 21). This class will cover topics including understanding health equity issues in the delivery of healthcare encounters and the role of cultural competence in the field of healthcare.
