This course provides instruction in automotive metal inert gas (MIG) and oxyacetylene welding with emphasis on safety, set-up and operation of welding equipment. Students successfully join automotive sheet metal using the MIG process.

Outcomes
  • Identify welding and cutting equipment components and their operation requirements.
  • Perform MIG welds on automotive panels for structural and non-structural repairs.
  • Operate plasma cutting equipment to perform basic cuts on automotive body panels.
