Advanced sheet metal students are challenged to apply advanced principles to design, layout and efficiently fabricate complex HVAC ducting elbows, branches, offsets, tapers, and transitions. Students will be introduced into operating the plasma burner to assist them with the pattern development of half the assigned fittings.
Outcomes
- Design, lay out, and fabricate complex HVAC elbows using Radial Line Development to SMACNA standards
- Design, lay out, and fabricate complex HVAC branch and T-fittings using Parallel Line Development to SMACNA standards
- Design, lay out, and fabricate complex HVAC offsets Using Triangulation Development to SMACNA standards
- Design, lay out, and fabricate complex HVAC tapers using Radial Line Development to SMACNA standards
- Design, lay out, and fabricate complex HVAC transitions using triangulation Development to SMACNA standards
- Safely set up and operate the plasma cutting equipment to accurately cut pattern pieces, form and fabricate for assigned HVAC fittings.
