Program Learning Outcomes
  • Identify automobile parts and systems, and understand their operation, including supplemental restraint systems
  • Set up and operate various types of frame and unibody straightening equipment
  • Perform frame and unibody measuring using both manual and computerized measuring systems
  • Restore damaged frames and unibodies to factory specifications using the latest pulling systems
  • Perform structural sectioning of unibody components, using I-CAR approved procedures
  • Remove, replace and align sheet metal parts, suspension components, and replace automotive glass
  • Apply a variety of automotive finish materials
  • Participate in complete refinishing of automobiles, along with all aspects of spot repair and panel refinishing utilizing refinish materials and equip.
  • Perform compounding and polishing operations on both new and old automobile finishes
  • Perform interior and exterior detailing of automobiles
  • Estimate repair cost related to collision damage
  • Service automotive electrical systems
  • Perform structural and non-structural welds with wire feed welders to industry standards
  • Understand hazardous waste management
  • Demonstrate shop safety practices
