Program Learning Outcomes
- Accurately lay out, measure, and mark materials using calculators, hand tools, and machines, following specifications from technical drawings and shop standards.
- Interpret construction blueprints to identify dimensions, materials, and installation requirements for sheet metal projects.
- Apply OSHA, WISHA, and HAZCOM safety standards and industry regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Identify and properly use common hand tools and machines for cutting, forming, and assembling sheet metal components.
- Fabricate and install sheet metal assemblies, including HVAC ductwork, mechanical equipment enclosures, and architectural metal features, to meet project specifications.
- Use computer applications for duct design and CAD-based fabrication, including basic file management and software navigation.
- Demonstrate professional work habits and effective interpersonal skills to contribute to a productive, team-oriented workplace.
- Use drafting tools and geometric principles to construct accurate layouts and patterns for sheet metal fabrication.
- Apply mathematical concepts to interpret technical drawings, calculate material dimensions, determine bend allowances, and develop layout patterns for fabrication.
